Miniature Donkey

A miniature donkey is one of the most adorable minis we have ever seen. A full-grown miniature donkey is generally less than 36 inches in height and weighs between 225 and 350 pounds. They come in a wide variety of colors including gray, brown, black, red, white and spotted. Not only are they extremely sweet, they are also very affectionate and loving. They love to play and are extremely smart. Miniature donkeys also develop lasting bonds with their owners and can be trained to do tricks.

The fennec fox is a major cutie- with huge ears and a tiny body. The fennec fox is the smallest fox in the world- generally measuring 6 inches in height and 2.2 pounds in weight. Fennec foxes are referred to as desert foxes because they primarily live in hot desert areas. Their ears help to keep the fox cool because they radiate body height. Fennec foxes can leap great heights- up to 2 feet high from a standing position.

Ahhh! A miniature cat! Is there anything more purrfect? Sand cats are the smallest feline on earth- they generally weigh less than 8 pounds. Sand cats live in the hot desert. They are solidary animals and spend most of their time alone. They are great predators that excel at hunting for food in the wild- which may include snakes and rodents. Sand cats are not only tiny, but they are fast too-a sand cat can run up to 25 mph! Sand cats burrow and bury their food to eat later.

Wait… What?! Have you ever seen something so tiny and cute?! The pygmy marmoset is the smallest monkey in the world. It weighs just over 100 grams and easily fits in the palm of a person’s hand. They are covered in grayish-brown fur. Pygmy marmosets live in troops of up to 15 members. They live in dense tropical rainforests and in lowland forests. They can leap up to 15 feet in the air and are mostly active during the day.

Pygmy goats are seriously cute, friendly and smart. Pygmy goats weight between 40 t0 70 pounds, and are 16 to 23 inches in height. Pygmy goats come in a wide variety of colors including white, gray, black, brown and multicolor. They eat a diet that consists primarily of grains and plants. They love people and can make great domesticated pets for people who have the right living conditions for them. Pygmy goats are great leapers and like to climb. Pygmy goats even love swimming!

A mini pig is a truly delightful animal that some people keep as pets. Miniature pigs weigh between 50 to 150 pounds when they are full-grown. Not only are mini pigs cute, they are also extremely intelligent and can be house-trained. Miniature pigs love attention and can be taught tricks by their owners. They shed stiff hair throughout warmer months to stay cool. Miniature pigs will roll around in the mud to stay cool and regulate their body temperature. They also use the mud as a barrier against the sun’s rays and pesky bugs.

African Pygmy Hedgehog

African pygmy hedgehogs are teeny tiny balls of joy. An African pygmy hedgehog is very small, generally between 7 to 9 inches long and weighs between 0.5 and 1.25 pounds. They are covered in tiny quills, and roll themselves into a small ball when they feel threatened. They also let out a variety of sounds including chirps, hisses, growls and even piercing screams. African pygmy hedgehogs are nocturnal and solitary- spending most of their time alone.
